Why we’re building Kinsu
Almost every Indian family has the file: a plastic folder of prescriptions, lab reports, X-ray envelopes and discharge summaries that goes to every doctor. Kinsu is that file, on your phone: organised, private and ready for the next appointment.
Where it started
With liver cirrhosis care, and a paper file.
Kinsu started with liver cirrhosis care: several specialists, medicines at different times of day around meals, readings to keep between visits, and a folder of reports that every doctor asked to see. It now covers blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid and more.
We spoke with patients, the family members who look after them, and their doctors. The same stories kept coming back: the old report left at home, the prescription that went off with an insurance claim, the test repeated because nothing was written down. Kinsu is built around those moments.
How we work
What we hold ourselves to.
- We say what the app does, and nothing more. No AI hype, no invented numbers, no features that aren’t built yet. Our site lists what Kinsu doesn’t do as plainly as what it does.
- Your records are yours. They stay on your phone, encrypted. We can’t read them and we never receive them.
- Built for Indian families. Medicines around meals, reports labelled by person, Indian emergency numbers, and a typeface designed for people with low vision.
- Not a doctor. Kinsu keeps the history; your doctor makes the decisions.
